Time, Space and Matter!

Did you know that time, space and matter must have come into existence at the same instant? After much research from the scientific community it has been concluded that not one of these three things (which basically make up the whole universe) can exist by itself. But if this is the case then how did the universe come into being? Every now and then someone comes up with a theory that tries to explain and accommodate all the physical properties of the universe, before failing in some way or the other. But there is a passage of scripture that gives us the perfect explanation about the creation of the universe,

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3) [emphasis mine]”

Do you know that these are the beginning verses of the Bible? In the beginning (time) God created the heaven (space) and the earth (matter). What’s more amazing is that each of these three exist in three forms. Time exists as past, present and future. Space exists in length, breadth and height (or X, Y and Z coordinates). And matter exists as solid, liquid and gas. And God said, Let there be… He spoke a single sentence, a single (Uni) sentence (verse)… and created the Universe.

Our existence is bound by the constraints of Time, Space and Matter. Only one to whom these constraints do not apply could have created the Universe. The Almighty, All knowing, Eternal God is the only one who could have created it. He is Omnipresent (Eternal), Omnipotent (Almighty) and Omniscient (All knowing), [the Latin prefix Omni means “All”].

Consider this… Space-time can be thought of as a fabric in which the different objects of the Universe are embedded and the same concept can be found declared thousands of years ago in the Word of God,

“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: (Isaiah 40:22) [emphasis mine]”

Isn’t it awe inspiring that we are only now discovering things about our universe that have been declared by God in His word many millennia before?

Think about it!!!

  1. Awesome.. Truely said. I admire the way you explain about science.
